Editor's Note

A distinguished expression of Dunhill’s British leather-goods heritage, the Wolsley Doctor Bag draws on a design tradition dating back more than a century. Rooted in the House’s beginnings in equestrian saddlery and harness-making, the bag is constructed using traditional bridle leather, a vegetable-tanned cowhide historically prized for its strength, durability and ability to develop character with age.

Its construction reflects the craftsmanship of classic doctor’s luggage: a rigid framed opening, intricately folded gussets and a substantial layered leather handle, finished with engraved brass hardware. The Rake records the Wolsley as a piece traditionally handmade by skilled craftsmen in Dunhill’s London workshop and notes that the design itself dates back over 100 years.
