An archival piece from Christian Dior’s Cruise 2017 collection, presented at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire in May 2016. Created during Dior’s transitional period following Raf Simons’ departure, the collection was developed by the House’s design team under Lucie Meier and Serge Ruffieux.

The collection marked Dior’s return to Blenheim Palace, where Christian Dior himself had presented a collection in 1954, followed by Yves Saint Laurent for Dior in 1958. Drawing on the English countryside and post-war high society, the collection combined hunting reds, country florals and traditional tailoring with exotic prints and richly worked embellishment.

Crafted entirely in silk, this vivid red floral blouse is densely decorated with dimensional glass, metal and PVC embroidery, creating an intricate, jewel-like surface across the bodice and sleeves. Soft draping through the lower silhouette contrasts with the elaborate embellishment, capturing the eclectic craftsmanship and romantic eccentricity that defined Dior’s Cruise 2017 collection.
