Introduced with Balenciaga’s Autumn/Winter 2019 collection, the Hourglass Bag translates the architectural curves of Cristóbal Balenciaga’s historic tailoring into a sculptural handbag silhouette. Its distinctive bowed base references the sharply defined waist and rounded hip of the House’s 1950s Basque designs - a shape that has since become one of Balenciaga’s most recognisable contemporary signatures.

This miniature interpretation retains the Hourglass’ signature curved base and structured top-handle construction in a highly polished crocodile-embossed calfskin. Despite its compact proportions, the detachable shoulder strap allows the design to transition between handheld and crossbody wear, while the sculptural B hardware gives the miniature silhouette an unmistakably Balenciaga finish.
